Upload visual assets and assign them to parameter combinations.
Assets are the images and 3D models that bring your configurator to life. As customers change options, the displayed image or 3D model updates automatically to match their selections. This visual feedback is what makes a configurator feel interactive and trustworthy.
Upload product images in JPEG, PNG, or WebP format. There is no arbitrary file size limit, but images are optimized on upload for fast loading. For best results, use consistent dimensions and backgrounds across your product images.
You can upload images by dragging them into the assets panel, clicking the upload button, or by pasting from your clipboard. Bulk upload is supported — drop multiple images at once.
Each image can be assigned to one or more parameter combinations. The assignment uses AND logic: an image assigned to “Color = Red” and “Size = Large” will only appear when both conditions are true.
To assign an image, click on its card in the assets panel and select the parameter values it should match. You can assign to any combination of parameters that have affects_image set to true.
You can mark one image as the default by clicking the star icon on its card. The default image is shown when no other assignment matches the current selection. This is an explicit opt-in — if you do not set a default, and no assignment matches, nothing is shown.
Note: The default image feature is opt-in. If you upload images but do not assign them or mark one as default, customers may see an empty image area for some combinations. Use coverage analysis (below) to find gaps.
The coverage analysis tool shows you what percentage of possible parameter combinations have an image assigned. It calculates the total number of unique combinations based on your parameters with affects_image enabled, then checks how many have a direct match or fall back to the default.
Use coverage analysis to identify gaps. If coverage is below 100%, either upload more images for the missing combinations or set a default image to cover the remainder.
Upload 3D models in GLB, GLTF, or STL format (max 2 GB). Models render in an interactive 3D viewer with rotation, zoom, and pan controls. The viewer supports PBR materials, so your models look realistic with proper lighting and reflections.
3D models use the same assignment system as images. You can assign different models to different parameter combinations. For example, assign a “compact” model when size is “Small” and a “full-size” model when size is “Large”.
If the customer selects a combination that has no assigned image or model and no default is set, the image/model area is simply empty. Spokbee does not guess or show an unrelated asset. This is by design — it is better to show nothing than to show something misleading.
Tip: For products with many combinations, set a default image that shows the product in its most popular configuration. This ensures customers always see something, even for rare combinations.
